More Than Just Climbing – A Fantastic Community Hub in Austin! I absolutely love Austin Bouldering Project (ABP)! It is such a well-rounded facility. Beyond the impressive climbing walls, they have a dedicated fitness and gym area, as well as a great space specifically for kids to explore. One of the best things about this place is that they frequently update the climbing routes, so there’s always a fresh challenge waiting for you. The upstairs lounge area is perfect for relaxing or getting some work done between sessions. If I had one small wish, it would be for them to serve freshly brewed coffee on-site—that would make it perfect! 🤣 The entire facility is consistently clean, especially the restrooms, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s always buzzing with energy and people, creating a very positive and motivating atmosphere. Highly recommended for climbers of all levels!

Huge climbing area, well maintained and not too crowded even in peak hours. Routes are overall ok (grade, creativity, variety of styles) but there could be a denser setting and divers somewhat limited. Overall a very good gym for all levels.

Austin Bouldering Project (Springdale) is such a cool place and one of the most fun, energizing spots in Austin. It’s much more than just a climbing gym. They have bouldering, yoga, fitness spaces, sauna, cold plunge, showers, co-working areas, youth spaces, and community events, which makes it feel like a full-day experience rather than a one-note outing. What I really love is the atmosphere. It feels active, welcoming, and genuinely fun whether you’re there to climb, work out, take a class, or just spend time in a space that has good vibes. There is even a food truck outside with a few restaurants next door in case you get hungry and don't want the snacks ABP has. Ultimately, it’s a place that makes you want to stay awhile, and it offers enough variety that different people can all enjoy it for different reasons. If you’re looking for something unique in Austin that combines movement, community, and a really fun environment, Austin Bouldering Project is absolutely worth checking out. It’s easy to recommend and easy to come back to again and again.

One of the only climbing gyms I go to frequently. Spacious, tons of climbing walls and routes, well-maintained, and kind staff. Also very inclusive of many kinds of people. I like ABP Springdale because the routes are fun and unlike other gyms doesn't just turn into crimps-only after you hit V3. Being able to do V6 black routes frequently and not have it be graded high solely because it's crimps-only like other gyms is nice. Soft grading and diverse set routes means it's easier to see strength and technique levels (in my opinion), and you don't get clumped together at the same level as someone who just started climbing but can brute-strength their way past routes with no technique.
