  Fantastic, large, sunny bouldering gym with excellent setting. The routes are challenging but fun, with even "easier" problems feeling technical. You can tell that a lot of knowledge and care was put into the design of this space. Very nice workout area with high quality lifting equipment, a mezzanine area too hang out or work from, and regular community events make this gym a great fit for all kinds of climbers. If I still lived in Portland, I would be here all the time. Great work to the team that brought this gym to life.

  New local climbing gym in the pearl area. Love the name, logo, and vision. The space is super open, clean, and lots of natural light from all the windows on the wall. The staff is super friendly making the atmosphere very homey. There are lots of variety of climbing with the large wall sections of climbing as well as the back spray wall with moon board and more. The setting style is very creative showcasing fun and unique movements across the difficulty scale where even a beginner can enjoy a route more than just a straight up ladder. There is a workout gym as well as an upstairs area I forgot to checkout. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

  The most diverse and unique setting I’ve experienced in PDX. Climbing is as much a mental puzzle as it is a physical challenge, and I think the setting at TOMO perfectly encapsulates that. Even the easiest climbs here offer a puzzle for new climbers to solve, and because of that, I love taking new climbers here and highly suggest beginners try TOMO!! The community and events here are unmatched and the gym merch can’t be beat. On top of all that, it’s an independent gym with great, affordable rates for college students or people who are curious about climbing but aren’t sure about committing to it yet. Happy to call it my gym.

  This place has so much potential And they have way more positives than negatives. Only reason why I’m doing a three star review is so it catches your attention and you read it. The biggest thing that made me not want to come back was the music. I don’t know if it’s a Portland scene thing, but the music is terrible. It feels like they’re playing Pokémon theme songs the whole time. It’s not a vibe for you to climb to. A less important but still inconvenient thing is the fact that you can’t climb without a shirt on. Only reason why I find this an issue is as a walk-in I don’t come with extra clothes. So it’s really inconvenient for me to come there and then have to leave in the same clothes that I arrive in. Lastly, and of course this is a luxury to have, but another thing that they’re missing is a shower. The positives are many, and I’m sure you’ve read them all. Really dynamic problems, good size gym, and upstairs area to study in. Overall great place, just those 2 things from above that if possible, consider changing.
